What does dilapidation mean?

Dilapidations (or strip outs) are the works and repairs required at the end of a commercial tenancy to return a space to its original state prior to occupation and changes made by the next tenant.

Who pays for the dilapidation costs?

Dilapidation costs generally fall on the current tenant. Usually the exact agreement of this clause will be detailed in your lease agreement.

How long does a dilapidation take?

It depends on many factors such as which supporting areas, the size of the space and the scope of work. it could be as little as 4 days or up to 4 weeks.

Will I need to manage the project?

No need to worry about this, our project manager will cover this on your behalf. However, you’re welcome to be involved as much or as little as you’d like.

When should I carry out a strip out?

No two projects are the same which means there isn’t a prescriptive price list to refer to. It depends on what supporting areas we are creating and the size of your specifications. Once we have a brief idea of the work, we’ll be able to give you a quote.
